About the Foundation


As a community champion, Credit Union West has a decades-long history of serving people and communities. Originally located on Luke Air Force Base, our mission was to enhance the lives of military members and their families as a trusted provider of financial services. Today, we embrace the same commitment to all Arizona communities.

Built on the same fundamental principle as Credit Union West, the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation aims to strengthen the communities we serve across Arizona. Through charitable contributions and grants, the foundation supports organizations and front-line heroes to enhance the quality of life for individuals in local communities.

The CU West CARES Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports local organizations in accordance with four key pillars:

  • Community Heroes
  • Education of All Ages
  • Human Health and Wellness
  • Distressed and Underserved Communities

The foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, who are trusted leaders with a passion for supporting and improving our communities. The Directors leverage a diverse set of experiences and a wealth of knowledge to guide the foundation’s charitable contributions and community engagement.

Through donations from individuals and businesses, the foundation is able to amplify efforts to strengthen local communities.
