At Credit Union West we don't just live and do business in the communities we serve; we also give back to them. Every day, we strive to uphold the credit union philosophy of "people helping people". We support many worthwhile organizations through financial literacy, monetary and in-kind donations, scholarships, sponsored events and volunteer opportunities. Credit Union West makes contributions to organizations and activities operating within the counties we serve with an emphasis on Educators, Healthcare Professionals, Military and First Responders and Local Non-Profit Organizations.
Member savings accounts at all credit unions are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Funds (NCUSIF), which is administered by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The fund is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. No taxpayer funds are used to support the (NCUA) or the (NCUSIF).
Credit Union West is a great place to work for great people, which is why we have been named a Top Company to Work For in Arizona since 2013. Visit our careers page for details about current openings as well as our comprehensive benefits package.

Unlike banks, credit unions are member-owned financial cooperatives. When you join Credit Union West, your initial deposit to open a share account establishes your membership and makes you a part-owner. Since there are no outside bank stockholders to satisfy, our credit union passes on the savings to you in the form of lower mortgage and loan rates, fewer service fees and higher yields on savings and checking.
Most financial institutions are owned by stockholders, who own a part of the institution and intend on making money from their investment. Credit Unions don't operate this way. Rather, each credit union member owns one "share" of the organization. Therefore the credit union customer, who we call a member, is actually a part-owner of the organization and is entitled to vote on important issues, such as the election of member representatives to serve on the Board of Directors.
Every credit union member has an equal vote in the election of our Board of Directors Our executive staff works closely with the Board on short and long-range planning, while overseeing daily operations. Learn more by visiting our Leadership and Governance page.
The Credit Union does not have a swift code. We have a routing number, 322172153. All incoming international wires must come via a United States Bank. We do not originate outgoing international wires.
We are always looking for participants to serve on our Board of Directors, and volunteers for our Supervisory Committee and in our Associate Volunteer program. Click here to learn more about these volunteer opportunities.
